Growing Communities Project – Autumn and Winter

The impactful intergenerational gardening project, Growing Communities, is back in 2024, thanks to the support of Transition Lichfield, Lichfield City Council begins with our partnership with the Spires Care Home. Our wonderful team of volunteers from Brand Remarkable, Worship Worth Experience, and others, will be back at some local community groups to work with the residents and students on choosing, growing, nursing, then eating (!) a range of produce, as well as lovingly maintain the plants, herbs and vegetables that were grown during the 2023 pilot project. We have seen, firsthand, the well-being impact of connecting two areas of the community that don’t often meet. It builds confidence among all involved, and reduces isolation, a growing issue across the older populations. All of our Nurture Projects work towards reducing isolation, increasing well-being and developing new connections across (apparently) disconnected communities.
