Let’s Talk about Climate Change!
We all have a role to play and the recent heatwave has shown that we are already feeling the effects of climate change, and it is not going away!
The Lichfield Methodist Eco Church group are joining forces with Transition Lichfield to put on ‘EcoFest’, as part of the national Great Big Green Week initiative – the largest co-ordinated action on climate change across the UK.
This interactive event will be held at the Church on Tamworth St, with short talks and videos from experts on topics such as pros and cons of electric vehicles, retrofitting your home, the carbon footprint of your food, fast fashion, reducing food waste, taking care of green spaces, travel without flying, ‘greenwashing’, and making your business sustainable.
All subjects that individuals can take something away from and look at making changes in their behaviour, at home or in the workplace.
Exhibitors will be offering advice and ideas on such areas as gardening for wildlife, zero waste shopping, recycling and reusing, and how to get involved with initiatives in your own community.
The Lichfield Repair Café repairers will be on hand to help with repairs to clothing, small electricals and general household items and the Big Red Bike will be giving rides on the bike. There are children’s activities to join in with too!
Free drink for all attendees and great value snacks and lunches will be available in the Church café.
